Choosing Willoughby Ridge Farm as the place for my horse to live was the best and easiest decision I have made.  In the past, I was able to have my horses in my own barn on my property.  After moving to New Hampshire, my desire of owning a horse was complicated by where to board him.  And then, I saw Willoughby Ridge Farm.  It was a perfect fit.  The facility has everything that a horse owner could ask for.  The staff has made me feel right at home as well as offering instruction in Natural Horsemanship.  At first, I wanted a facility that was a short distance from my home. I found that with Willoughby Ridge Farm. 

Every day work and life can take a toll on a person’s soul. There is something to be said for finding Sanctuary; a place where the stresses of your life melt away. Willoughby Ridge Farm is just that Haven.
            To be able to walk the magnificent acreage and hear the loons calling from Squam Lake is pure Magic. I can see the grazing, multi-colored horses whose gently sloping backs parallel the horizon line of the mountains beyond.
            I love the golden hour at the farm. That sunset time where the world quiets and the birds call out in song. Cats pass by, tails high, hips rubbing at your calves in a soothing hello. In the far distance a cow bellows out a long and mellow moo. I feel my job fade away into another world. The barn is still and the welcoming knickers of horses and munching hay create a tranquil rhythm of farm life. I love to be able to step inside a heard of horses who live under an open sky, to feel their noses press and whiskers tickle, their steamy breath caressing my cheek and whispering of happiness and joy.
            There is a comfort and calm that fills my heart to bursting, just to know I can go to Willoughby Ridge Farm. That there is indeed a place where one can find peace and harmony with their horse and feel genuine companionship and love. A wonderful world that is a bit closer to home then, ‘Neverland’. Where being a grownup grants you an all season pass.
 If Willoughby Ridge Farm were not what it is, and the people who care for our horses not who they are, this safety would not exist. The knowledge that friends with skill and integrity hold close to their hearts our most precious companions creates a wonderful feeling of security. If honesty were not a value and genuine caring not a part of their character, I am sure I would not feel this sense of balance and harmony. This awareness of right in the world and the overwhelming happiness that is, Willoughby Ridge Farm.
